I have my fair share of bad, moody, "why isn't anything going my way" kind of days. But recently, I've mostly just been feeling blessed. I can hardly believe how much I love my first real job, how many incredible friends I have within a subway ride (or a phone call), how absolutely perfect my first apartment is. And when I am just about to burst with happiness, I say or do something that reminds me of my mom. It is then that I have to pinch myself. In The Importance of Being Earnest, Oscar Wilde wrote, "All women become like their mothers. That is their tragedy. No man does. That's his." I just might be the luckiest daughter in the whole wide world.
Wishing the happiest of Mothers Day to all. I'll be spending my afternoon honoring my mom, my aunt, my grandmother, and even my great-grandmother with an early dinner at Josie's West. See you beauties tomorrow.
Isn't feeling blessed an amazing feeling? I'm right there with ya.

ReplyDeleteMy goodness, that is a gorgeous photo of you and your mother. I love it! This post is a great reminder to be thankful for all that we have - family, friends, jobs, the city. See you soon lady!
