I love Shrek. I knew that before today but I had no idea how much I'd fall in love with the story all over again. Funny and cute, woah :)
The musical was fantastic. I doubted that they'd be able to convert the movie to the stage without losing some of it's magic but they did it, and they did it well. My sister and I especially loved the songs and spent (a ridiculous) $20 on the soundtrack so that we could learn them. For an early dinner/very late lunch we walked over to Restaurant Row and ended up at New York's "Big Easy." I thought of you, Gena :). They had a wonderful selection of Cajun dishes! (I need to make a trip to New Orleans soon.) Not to mention quite the list of Happy Hour Specials... Nine more days, Danielle ;), just nine more days. We sat outside on the terrace on this beautiful evening in Manhattan. My sister was very happy with the arrangement, she's so cute. I had the Grilled Shrimp Salad, an assortment of mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, onions, mango, avocado, and, of course, grilled shrimp. I drizzled a bit of the Honey Mustard dressing on top and dug in... the verdict? It was spectacular. The fruit was a great addition! As for Miss Deanna, she enjoyed an All-American burger and fries. I had a few bites of her beefy meal and I've got to say, it was gooood. Trouble is, I've had an uncomfortable stomach ever since. So that's why I try not to eat meat anymore, now I remember. I also had a coffee while she enjoyed a few scoops of vanilla ice cream with a caramel sauce for free thanks to a coupon in the Shrek playbill. Supporting dessert? Did I mention I also love Broadway? We walked around the city for a bit before taking the train back up to lovely home in Westchester. On the ride I began reading the June issue of Women's Health; did you know that there's a 44% increase from winter to summer in the number of steps the average woman takes per day? Get out there and enjoy the sunny weather! You may stumble across something beautiful :).What a great day with my little sis! I always feel bad that I don't get to spend as much time with my siblings as I'd like so I really appreciated our time together. Now I've got to get my brother to let me take him out :). Sweet dreams everyone, it's time for me to take my first step.
